Using the site

Hey Piano 4U is free to use for personal, educational and non-commercial practice. You agree not to misuse it: do not attempt to disrupt or overload the site, scrape it at a rate that harms other users, or use it unlawfully.

Songs, arrangements and recordings

Public-domain tunes. The compositions behind our well-known tunes are in the public domain. Our simplified arrangements for learning are provided for your personal practice.

Original practice pieces. The scales, exercises and etudes written for this site are free for you to use and play, including in lessons. Please do not republish the site’s collection as your own product.

Recordings in the listening room. Each recording keeps its own licence (public domain, CC0, CC BY or CC BY-SA), shown beside it. If you reuse a recording, you are responsible for following its licence, including giving credit where it is required. Use of the Internet Archive links is subject to the Internet Archive’s terms.

Site code and design. The site’s code, design and text are owned by Phillistine Records, except where noted. You may link to the site freely.

No lessons, no guarantees

Hey Piano 4U is a practice aid. It is not a substitute for a qualified teacher, and we do not promise any particular learning result. Take breaks and stop if you feel pain in your hands, wrists or arms.

Disclaimer of warranties

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or compatible with every browser, device or MIDI keyboard. Song arrangements are simplified and may contain mistakes; see our corrections policy.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Phillistine Records and its owner will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under law that cannot be limited.
